Elena Baca has her MFA from the University of New Mexico and is an educator and artist with over 25 years of experience working in museums, higher education, informal science and art education. As Visual Arts Educator, she is responsible for creating programs to enhance museum experiences. She works with artists to create hands-on art programs for adults and families, works with schools in providing participatory art activities and exhibitions that embrace cultural understanding, and develops interactive experiences for art museum patrons. Having worked with museums across the country in developing making and tinkering activities, as well as a framework for instruction, her interests include adding culture to STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Math) and partnering with local community organizations to inspire and connect new ideas and experiences.
