Sutherland Jaramillo works with the NHCC History and Literary Arts team in artist resource development. Sutherland obtained her B.A. and M.A. in Spanish, with a concentration in Southwest Studies, at the University of New Mexico, where she taught courses in Spanish as a Second Language and Spanish as a Heritage Language. In addition to being a Spanish instructor, she has worked in other educational settings, including in an ESL classroom. As an AmeriCorps member at the NHCC, in addition to her role in artist resource development, she is part of the team developing the Mundos de Mestizaje fresco curriculum.
