Literary Arts Lesson Plans
The NHCC’s History and Literary Arts program has created a K-12 Social Studies and Language Arts curriculum inspired by “Mundos de Mestizaje,” the monumental buon fresco inside the torreón on the NHCC campus. By engaging with the fresco, children and young adults explore Hispanic/Chicanx/Latinx identity and culture as the result of thousands of years of cultural cross-pollination.

The Visual Arts program has developed curriculum for students of all ages, based on museum studies, inspiration from artists featured in the museum’s permanent collection, and Hispanic/Chicanx/Latinx traditions and celebrations.
