Educational resources from the National Hispanic Cultural Center

No virtual experience compares to an in-person visit to Mundos de Mestizaje, the buon fresco housed on the campus of the National Hispanic Cultural Center (NHCC). Given the tenuous nature of in-person education during this time, the History and Literary Arts program has created K-12 Social Studies and Language Arts lessons that can be completed either virtually or in person.

For the most effective educational experience, begin lessons and activities with a virtual tour of the fresco and continue to periodically familiarize students with the whole fresco throughout the learning process, in addition to studying individual images.

This virtual tour document leads you through introducing the fresco to students.  Additionally, a comprehensive image guide will help you navigate teaching the fresco.
